(Soon open all year round)
Located in an area of unmatched beauty, the Castello di Parrano is a residence of charm, it basks in the sun on the slopes of the hills so typical of the Umbrian-Tuscan landscape - covered in woods, dotted with olive groves and scented by wild flowers. It dominates over stunning scenery. Nature and peace are everywhere, and indoors the décor has been determined by a thousand years of life. An historical residence restored to its ancient glory and transformed into an exclusive resort. The emotions of the Middle Ages live together with the warmth of ambiences lived in for generations and, with the modern comforts of today, you have a truly unique place. A residence of great charm that invites guests to relax, to get back in touch with their emotions. Live nestled in the landscape, enjoy truly breathtaking sunsets, look out from the terrace over the multi-hued orange-tinted oak trees and the green leaves of the vineyards, olive groves and distant forest. Give in to the luxury of getting to know one of the most well-loved and pure countryside environments in the world - first hand and up close. That is the privilege that comes with staying in a residence of charm. The number of guest rooms is limited, the service is truly personalised, the hospitality a perfect blend of human warmth and respect for privacy - these are the elements that distinguish the Castello. A sense of absolute freedom in one of the world’s most romantic places, where you feel so perfectly at home that it seems you don’t need room keys, money or credit cards. The emotions of the Middle Ages blend with the warmth of the ambiences that have been used for generations and now also have the modern comforts of today. A dream in which to live special moments that remain imprinted in one’s soul. In the tallest tower, some 40m high, the apartments and rooms recall the Middle Ages, a time of defense. The harshness of those days and the comforts of today come together for an unforgettable experience. In the Pope’s room, for example, there is a tiny private chapel that leads directly to the Church, so that the Holy Mass celebrated there can be observed discretely – it’s impossible not to feel profound emotions. The greatest of all emotions. Unique. The room of the Marchesa takes us to the 1700s, a glorious era. Its décor softens the hardness of the stone tower into which her bathroom, with closet and make-up area, is carved. The antechamber has a storage area from which to choose cushions and pillows. Next to it is the one belonging to the Marchese, and his is more sober and manly. The Spagnola room, on the other hand, blends seduction with the history of a well-lived-in ambience. The large fireplace lets us know we are in the Caccia, or Hunting, Suite. Here the sober ambience is lightened by modern comfort in an ancient room full of the memories of those who spent time in it. The Suite dei Fiori is brightly lit and smells of the fresh aromas from the woods, olive groves and Spanish Broom growing in the valley below. The ancient pool table and games table remind us that time is a luxury not to be wasted in the rush of modern daily life. The room of the Duchessa holds all the allure of a four-poster wrought iron bed, of battles and Napoleon, contrasted beautifully with gorgeous romantic white fabric. The Etrusca room has a lovely double four-poster bed, like the Marescotti, and one of the loveliest bathrooms, actually, a suite of rooms that make up the bathroom. The “Mastio” also has a suite of rooms for its bathroom, and it looks directly at the highest tower. In a word, each room in the Castello recalls someone who lived in it or reminds us of the history of it. Just a stay in one of the rooms makes a visit to the Castello di Parrano more than worthwhile. A unique emotion. |
